Don't live down to expectations. Go out there & do something remarkable. --Wendy Wasserstein

Tis the Season...

Tis the Season...as the song goes "to be jolly," but I've been thinking about it & it's "Tis the Season" to be busy as a bee! There's been many a evening in the last week or so that I have stayed up until around midnight. In honor of this holiday season, I'd make a list of the things that I've been busy doing...so here goes!

Tis the season to...
make cards & more cards
wrap gifts
send out Christmas cards full of happiness & cheer(that's what it seems like to me!)
spend time w/family & friends
do things & make things/treats for family & friends
organize my card making/scrapbook area

The last item is what I've been working on & working on some more. It seems to be a never-ending process! But, I hope to get it accomplished here soon. Once my scrapbook/card area is organized better, I will be able to make cards & do other scrapbooking projects more efficiently. And, we are hoping it'll be more kid-proof, too! Since, my 16mo old thinks everything w/in his reach or just out of his reach is a toy or some form of entertainment!

Tis the season...to be thankful for things & people I love. I am so happy to have such a wonderful husband & son. They support me all the way & it's a great feeling. Have a Merry Christmas!

Cards are fun

Making cards is fun--really, it is! I enjoy making and creating new and different cards. Moving up to Montana just over 7mos ago has taught me about making new cards and brought more fun into my card making. I see my card making w/new eyes now. And, I see so many things and ideas I can incorporate into my cards that I get so excited at times! I am thankful to have such an outlet that I truly enjoy doing anytime--well, as much as I possibly can with having a busy almost 16mo old baby boy, a hubby, and a house to take care of all at once!

I'm not sure how big of a business this will turn into, but I am sure that making cards is fun and it gives me an outlet for all my ideas! And, I can have fun making cards for not just myself, but for other people as well. Take care & have a Happy Holidays! I'll be writing more again soon...

Getting My Name Out...

Well, last Saturday the 14th of November was a Holiday Craft Show at the school in Lima. I feel like everything turned out really great w/it! I ended up making $60.oo--which is good for such a small town. Lima only has about 3 or 4 hundred people in the town. Doing the craft show was a way for me to start getting my name out to let people know about all the fun things I make. I ended up selling some cards to Connie, a lady from the motel in Lima. She said she'll sell them at her gift shop in the motel. And, she wants me to make more all occasion western cards for her! I thought that was great! I had fun showing people that came by my cards. A few other things I made for the craft show were pen/pencil holders out of soup cans that I decorated, gift tags/cards, magnets, & notebooks. The notebooks were a hit that's for sure! If only I would've known that I could've gotten supplies to make more of them! I enjoyed doing the craft show & would like to do more eventually--to get my name out more.

Overflowing

I just love being able to create new cards! I feel like my creativity is overflowing at times! And, as of late that's how it's been like all the time...I have my big kitchen counter set up as my card making station right now. It's temporarily cluttering up my kitchen, but it's for a good cause--at least I think it is a good cause! The 'good cause' is cards creatively designed & made by me! I moved my card making work station to the kitchen counter, because of my too inquisitive & helpful 15mo old. Shane likes to help me a little too much!) I decided to move my supplies up higher that way Shane can't 'help' w/my card-making!

I am making so many cards currently because I am doing a table at a craft show coming up on Nov. 14th at the school in Lima. I'm not sure what the traffic of people will be like--or if I will see a lot either. My main focus is to start getting out there w/my cards...to let people know what I enjoy doing and that I want to share that enjoyment w/them.

Well, take care for now--I'll try to post again sometime soon! I've got to get busy working on organizing my cards & how many more I need to make before the craft show...

Cards, cards, cards...and more cards!

As Jo March in the book Little Women said, "I should've been a great many things." Well, I agree w/that & can connect myself directly her quote. I, too, should've been a great many things...But I also think I am many different things at the same time. I am a mom to a very curious little 15mo(almost) old, I'm a wife to a handsome hubby, and let's see...I'm a wombmate--I was lucky enough to be born w/a sister, so we're twins(of course!)...I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, and I'm a creator. I LoVE to scrapbook & create new things! One of my very favorite things to make & create are cards--I enjoy putting them together. Cards are short projects that can be finished fairly quickly and that's one of the qualities I like about them. Another quality is that a card is something you can give to someone to brighten their day and bring a smile to their face. Simply put cards show you care.

I am doing this blog to get the idea of my cards going and to let others know what I do. Cards are fun & relaxing for me--as I said before I enjoy making them. I am currently working on selling them at a few places. Hopefully this venture will be fruitful in some way--I do know it will be a learning experience for me that's for sure, because it already is!

I received my first $5.00(w/a family discount) from my Mom for five Christmas cards I sold her & I've put it in a special bank to keep my card money in one place. I am making Christmas cards for my older sis, Chris & her husband, Brian--so I will be receiving money there as well. Chris & Brian's cards have their picture on the front & they have turned out very cute! I think they will like them.

Well, it's way late & I should be sleeping...my baby boy will wake up around 7:30-8am and I won't want to get up if I stay at the computer much longer! Good night!

Go & Find That Change!

This blog is supposed to help me w/my creativity in making cards, notebooks, scrapbooks, etc.. I think the title fits quite well for this, also. I need to 'go & find that change.' I came across an email from Lesley, my wombmate, that she sent me almost a year ago--it was April 14, 2009. She said, "So much change is about ready to come for you. Or it is more like you are going to it. You are going and finding that change!" Those words have really hit me so I felt like writing about them here on his creative blog of mine.

Change is not such a bad thing in life. Sometimes it just comes along--other times we go out and seek it--kinda like what my sister was referring to w/my move to Montana. I was embarking on a big change in my life. I had just gotten married to the love of my life the month before...and now, we(me, Dustin & Shane-our son) were moving 3 1/2 hrs away from family & living in the middle of nowhere for a new job. I would be a stay-at-home mom to Shane & that was something I'd never done before. I've always worked ever since forever.

Now a year later we are finding ourselves moving back to Idaho...and the feeling I get just knowing that is very calming. Moving back to where we're from--is comforting. It's also a change, but we will succeed in one way or another.

I have learned that change happens no matter what. We just have to learn how to handle it and figure out how to embrace it. As my sis said, we need to go out & find that change!

I hope all these changes in my life will influence me for the better so I can be the best person I possibly can. Change is good--that's what I keep telling myself. And, all these changes will help me in my creativity w/my card making & scrapbooking projects. Change brings about more change which in turn helps my creativity flow more into projects of my life & what matters to me or catches my interest.

So, let's all go out and find that change!
